What they have in common: Everyone can take part. Some are old-school camp that will tickle even the straightest of the straight. A few traffic in a certain gay sensibility but aren’t topically gay. We’ve planned out what we call “The Gayest 36 Hours You Can Possibly Have in New York.” The cultural events listed here, many free, are geared primarily toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender audiences but have a wider appeal. We wondered just how much gay we could cram into three days, especially knowing that the Supreme Court’s coming decision on same-sex marriage could make this Pride month historic. For Gay Pride weekend in New York, we set out to put a spin on the idea. THE series of efficiently scheduled excursions that our colleagues in the Travel section of The New York Times call “36 Hours” have urged readers to go park hopping in Lima, honey shopping in Savannah and espresso sipping in Antigua.
